World-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State, Nigeria, which left two people dead.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around 11 a.m., when the vehicle carrying Joshua, a Lexus Jeep with registration number KRD 850 HN, collided with a stationary truck. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
A reporter from PUNCH Online, who was part of the rescue mission, stated that Joshua sustained only minor injuries. Tragically, two individuals at the scene lost their lives.
The crash comes just days after Joshua’s high-profile victory over YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami, where Joshua knocked out Paul and broke his jaw in two places during a fight watched by over 30 million viewers on Netflix.
Authorities in Ogun State have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
